Summer Travel: The Desert

With the start of June begins the start of summer travel.  A perfect reason to pick up a few new outfits to update, or create the go to repertoire of must pack items. Taking off for big sky country- Phoenix, Santa Fe, Austin, or Sedona? Here are a few recommendations on how to stay cool, and stylish in a few versatile pieces.

Maxi dresses are in, and for good reason. Super soft in cotton jersey you will feel comfortable all day with the long, loose style providing protection from the sun while staying breathable. In New York many women are knotting the side of the skirt to add some asymmetry. You can also add a leather tassel end belt from B-Low the Belt in black or nude for an accessory option.

Another light jersey option is the batwing flowy top to pair with a lace skirt, or those cowgirl jeans. Just enough coverage to keep the sun from burning your shoulders, and loose so it floats breezily around your body.  These dusty shades will also make some of that new turquoise jewelry you’ll be picking up really pop.

Fringe is a ubiquitous trim of the cowboy country. Handbags are a great way to incorporate this into your look; either a leather tassel piece that easily goes day to evening, or canvas sack with crochet fringe detailing that can accommodate the addition of a water bottle and sunscreen to your usual purse items.  Bring the texture full circle with a top, skirt, or crochet dress.  Super soft, cozy, and on trend (see Vogue April 2012 gypsy photo shoot) we have a variety of lengths and styles so you can find your perfect match.

Happy summer travels!
